MY PICKS- ROUND ONE 2014 NFL DRAFT

nfldraft-672x372

Well, it is done! I did the Mock draft for the first round. All this time I was saying the Steelers should draft weak inside Linebacker CJ Mosley, while a lot of fans were screaming for Mike Evans and Darqueze Dennard. Yet looking into teams needs and wants, I have realize that teams will be drafting all three of those players before Steelers get their pick. We are talking about true talent for those three guys that are able to start right now in the NFL. Breaking down to who the Steelers have left on the draft board that was available to them, I pretended to be Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin. The Steelers addressed some of their wideout issues by signing free agents Lance Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey. Yet, on the cornerback side Steelers picked up Brice McCain who is more a special team standout than a star cornerback. So the Steelers need to see who falls in their lap where they have issues coming up after this year. Steelers know that Ike Taylor is done after this year and besides Cortez Allen the Steelers don’t have a cornerback that can start every snap. The player that falls in their lap and picked up is no other than Justin Gilbert cornerback from Oklahoma State.

  1. Have you gone insane? There is not 1 CB out there in this draft that is going start over Gay and Taylor no matter how talented and good they are plain and simple. You give the Panthers Benjamin and not the Steelers: Why? you realize that the Steelers do not have a legit No.2 WR on this team and I hear you say the WR spot is fixed or that it needs another “small guy” I will really get mad. Where is the Ben’s Tall WR target and red zone threat? See you are just like the rest: wait until the later rounds for a WR to fall into you lap. That notion is outdated and worthless at this point. Other than Evans and Benjamin there is only 1 WR that I see as a fit for the Steelers and that is Rutgers Brandon Coleman. I don’t wanna hear about guys like Beckham, Landry, Robinson or Matthews or even Jeff Janis cause none of those guys can do what those 3 WR’s I mentioned will do for not only Ben but for the team as well.

    • Did you mean over Cortez Allen and Ike Taylor? William Gay is only the Steelers nickel and dime package CB. I talk to NFL scouts and the wide receiver is deep this year. Years from now Beckham will be talked about as a very talented wide receiver. This year the Steeler will focus more on the running game than the last three seasons. Thanks for leaving a comment and I love talking Steelers and responding back.
