Brice McCain Visit Steelers April 01

The Steelers are hosting a free agent that played with Houston Texans, name Brice McCain tomorrow. McCain is a cornerback that is known to play in the nickel package.

What do I believe?

I SAY HE WILL SIGN! We have Antown Blake and Shamarko Thomas who the Steelers are stating will and can play nickel/dime. Yet, Thomas was hurt some, which hurt how much he played last season and Blake is a special team guy who ony played like 6 snaps at cornerback. So we could use McCain 5 years of experience. Look for McCain to help the Steelers by playing behind William Gay with hopes of fighting for third on the depth chart. Look for the signing to be one year 930,000.

I DO BELIEVE, BLOUNT WILL BE A STEELER!

To the Steelers Nation, I can say loud and confident that I do believe that LeGarrette Blount will be the Pittsburgh Steelers backup running back. My heart and gut feeling says that I am right about this.

Blount was not drafted in the 2010 draft. After a meeting with Jeff Fisher, Blount was signed as an undrafted free agent. It did not take long before Coach Fisher had to deal with Blount’s left hand or right hand punches. During an altercation during practice, Blount was involved with defense of end Eric Bakhtiari where punches were being thrown. Blount was asked to leave the field and doing so, Blount told Coach Fisher he was sorry. Fisher response to Blount was he didn’t have to apologize. Fisher stated that Blount is very competitive and that is why they signed him. Blount would end up being waived on September 05, 2010.

The next day September 06, 2010 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would claim Blount off of waivers. At the end of his rookie season Blount would finish with 1,007 yards in 13 games. It was the most rushing yards by any rookie in the 2010 draft.

April 27, 2013 Blount was traded to the New England Patriots and December 29, against the Bills would set a franchise record for all purpose yards with 334 yards.
Last season, Blount ran for 772 total yards and average 5.0 yards a carry. With that said, I think the Steelers can tell that Blount is still able to run successfully. Blount made 680,000 dollars last year which is not a lot for somebody to be a backup runner. If the Steelers can sign a deal with Blount from 1.2 million or under than I DO BELIEVE, he is signed and delivered. Not only will we have a backup running back that also can do kickoff returns as well, but a guy that can deliver that punch to the defense.

So Steelers Nation get your terrible towels out and wave them around… screaming hiya!

Last Wednesday, I was viewing the Mock Drafts, and wondering who should the Pittsburgh Steelers be picking in the draft. I had names in my head of where players should be drafted, and how the Steelers could use them on their team. While looking at different Mock Drafts and learning players strongest and weakness playing abilities, I would also see what character they were on and off the field. While doing so I read a story that touched my heart. A player that was very good at playing football and had tough times that came in his life at a young age, yet he never gave up. It left a big impression of him in my heart that I wrote his name down on a piece of paper at work, and said “God, Let the Steelers draft this man!”

So let me introduce you to our fourth round pick, 111th…

DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR ON JAMES HARRISON RETURN

james-harrison

The signing of Arthur Moats to me, doesn’t mean to close the door on James Harrison. What the Steelers lacked last year was depth. We couldn’t tackle and gave big plays to the opposing team. Moats a great pick up that never missed one tackle. However, James Harrison can give depth as well to the OLB position. Harrison has always been good at stopping the run.

The Steelers are getting 8 million dollars cash for releasing Woodley on June 1st. That money will be spent on Harrison to comeback for 1 year… to give leadership… confidence… depth.. and most of all.. run stops.

STEELERS MOCK DRAFT (2)

Below is my second mock draft. This is the same as the first mock draft I did except picking up Stephon Tuitt in the second round. I am sure before the draft date arrives, my picks and the expert picks will change more. I have been thinking so hard of the Steelers drafting C.J. Mosely and Pierre Desir that I can’t imagine any other way.
